Corporate Social Responsibility

Revolutionise Document Management

For decades the only way for an organisation to store information was to keep physical copies of documents in filing cabinets. Even with the introduction of space-saving ideas like the microfiche, these took up valuable space, and it was easy to lose records and have duplicated documents, searching for the right document was also a challenge in itself

Empowering our People
  • We provide a comfortable and flexible working environment empowering our employees to perform to the best of their abilities.

  • We encourage our employees to improve their knowledge by offering access to training and development opportunities and courses for their personal and career development and empower them to contribute to the Company’s success.

  • We are committed to ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and equally and encourage everyone to treat each other with dignity and respect.

  • We embrace equal opportunities and refuse to accept discrimination of any kind, this is upheld with a strict policy to support this within our ISO 9001 Quality manual. We are confident that each employee is chosen on their own merits of being able to work in their relevant area and paid a fair salary above minimum wage for the role they perform, there is no gender pay gap or discrimination against either physical or mental disabilities, gender, age, nationality, or religion.

  • We are accredited with the Living Wage Foundation and are proud to say that we have paid our employees more than the living wage for over twenty years.

Ethics & Compliance
  • Our Senior Management is committed to complying with all relevant laws and requirements and communicating awareness to our employees.
  • Our policies and procedures are communicated to all employees and updated regularly to ensure we promote a culture of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Data protection guidance and training are provided to all our employees to ensure we protect the privacy of the data entrusted to Twofold.
Supply Chain Management
  • We review our suppliers annually and only work with suppliers who observe our standards and have acceptable business ethics.
  • We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or any part of our business and have put in place a designated Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy. This policy is our way of demonstrating our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships, implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
  • We actively seek suppliers who provide sustainable products.
  • When choosing new suppliers, we also look at how they account for the environmental impact of their products and services. Our envelope manufacturer works with the Woodland Trust, which produces carbon balances for every envelope. Our packaging supplier plants a tree for every order they receive, all new suppliers are chosen on their commitment to working towards net zero by 2050.
Reducing our Environmental Footprint
  • Our products are sourced from responsible manufacturers committed to manufacturing and assembling products to the highest industry standards, respecting responsible environmental practices. They continuously look for ways to improve energy efficiency, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and minimise water consumption and landfill waste. They work closely with logistics partners and vendors to minimise and consolidate shipments and consider sustainability when selecting transportation modes.
  • Choosing responsible manufacturers means reducing waste at the source and, ultimately, avoiding products ending up in landfills at their end of life. With this in mind, we have a fully implemented returns service for equipment and consumables. We send ink cartridges with a Freepost biodegradable bag to return used inks to ensure they are recycled correctly and not enter landfills. We also offer a free service to recycle old equipment to prevent unnecessary waste. When we receive old equipment in our warehouse, we dismantle it and extract components, parts and modules that can be re-used wherever possible to repair and maintain other products, thereby reducing waste.
  • We are a member of the Weeecare compliance scheme and an EA-approved company compliant with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013. Once a returned machine is disposed of, we record this disposal and provide the customer with a Waste Carrier Certificate confirming the disposal and the percentage of reusable parts of the machines that we have been able to refurbish. On average, we recycle and reuse around 50% of the parts of end-of-life machines.
  • As part of our ongoing commitment to ISO14001, we have implemented several systems to reduce carbon emissions from infrastructure. All supplier orders for machines, parts, consumables are made in bulk to reduce the number of deliveries and environmental impact, where possible we instruct our suppliers to deliver items direct to customers. In addition, we offer customers advice based on looking at their business process as to the number of consumables they may need for set periods and encourage them to order supplies sufficient for more extended periods by offering discounts to reduce the number of deliveries.
  • Furthermore, we ensure our engineers carry a varied stock of parts for repairing machines. On high-volume customer sites, we leave parts on-site, meaning we can be more energy efficient by achieving more first-time fixes and preventing the need for repeat visits. This provides better customer service, less downtime for the customer, and a potential 50% reduction in the carbon footprint.
  • In the last two years, we have replaced all of our engineers' vehicles with hybrid-powered vehicles and installed charging points at their homes. This has reduced the CO2 emissions from our engineers alone by two-thirds.
Providing Excellence in Customer Service
  • One of Twofold’s main goals is to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.
  • We work hard to listen to our customers and build relationships with them.
  • We conduct annual surveys and regular account management to ensure we provide the best possible service and that our customers are happy.
  • We answer our phones within three rings, and our customers speak to a real person.
  • We train our employees to a high standard to enable them to assist our customers, and on average, we close 15% of all calls over the phone.
  • We offer quality products and services and work with manufacturers to ensure our products are sustainable.
Philanthropy
  • A key element of the Twofold policy is giving back to the community, and we are always looking for ways to do this. This encompasses many things and includes helping to create job opportunities for local people by using local recruitment agencies and tackling unemployment by advertising all vacancies on the Government's Find a Job website.
  • With 60% of Twofold Senior Management living locally, we are committed to making a positive difference in the world and investing in giving back to our community.
  • For the last ten years, we have been offering apprenticeship placements specifically targeted at local people. We have had many success stories with these young people going on to management positions.
  • We currently have the capacity for two apprentice roles and work with a local college to fill these positions. We teach these young people the basics of working in an office, timekeeping, following policies and procedures and communicating at different levels.
  • We support a homeless charity in Reading and has committed to making a regular monthly payment. They also offer support with fundraising and volunteering days.
  • We offer every employee one volunteer day per year to volunteer in charity projects that are either local to our office or charities that are of personal interest to them.
  • As an envelopes supplier, we recognise the need to provide quality sustainable products with minimum environmental effects. We work with the World Land Trust, a responsible carbon-balanced printer, to ensure waste is kept to an absolute minimum, and we limit our environmental impact. The World Land Trust has committed to halve their scope 1 and scope 2 carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero before 2050.
  • In 2024 we made a commitment that for every new customer we engage with, Twofold will plant a tree with the Woodland Trust.
